Notes: North of downtown Ann Arbor, the mainline disappears behind some buildings and goes into a hidden "tunnel" beneath the basement access window, re-emerging near Main Street and Depot street and the Conrail overpass and the famous bridge over the Huron River. This "tunnel" will be wrapped in a hinged panel for access, and it will be lettered with the Annie's slogan "We have the Connections." The scene featuring the unique depot in Clare is flipped (North-South) so the viewer looks right at the C&O / Annie crossing and the cupola of the depot... it was more important for me to capture the scene than to worry about if the train passed through it in the "real" direction! The facility at Boat Landing focuses on the yard, engine terminal, depot, coal tower and west slip, with plans to include the car ferry Viking at the dock. In the interest of compressing the scene I have omitted the east slip and some of the yard tracks, but I think the flavor still comes through. |
