Hogan Junction - Tops
With the benchwork in place, the next step was to temporarily mount the styrofoam and sketch out the track plan.

Once the styrofoam was in place, we identified the most critical locations on the plan: the three pieces of track that connect one board to the next board.

For purposes of this article, I am calling the left hand side of the layout "Side A" and the right hand portion is "Side B."

In the interest of showing a variety of the tasks being accomplished, you may see some photos that reflect a level of completion slightly ahead of the story - but that's due to the fact that I downloaded the entire project at the end, and some of the pictures turned out better than others.... and I'm trying to show the best view/angle for the topic being discussed.

In the photo at the bottom right you'll note that Side B is in place and that I have even carved out an area for the pond. If you look closely you'll see that some preliminary wiring has been done, too.

However, this page primarily demonstrates the placement of the table tops and the need to accurately mark the location of the track.
