Hogan Junction - Supplies
A trip to the local Meijer, Lowes and Home Depot stores resulted in all of the major supplies required to build the framework and table top of the layout.

You just have to love modern technology and service: the styrofoam was custom cut to exactly the 3' x 6' size required, courtesy of the giant wall-mounted saw at Lowes. No muss, no fuss and best of all - free! The other benefit is that when these pieces were cut to size, they fit perfectly in the back of the Explorer for a no-hassle trip home!

On the same trip I obtained Liquid Nails, wood screws and brackets. A second trip netted 1/4 finish plywood and paint for the fascia. I had the plywood cut to size, again so that it fit right into the truck.... this size will also fit into most station wagons or hatchbacks, as long as the back seat folds down and the front passenger seat can be moved forward.

The materials were all stored in the garage until they were ready to be cut to final shape and brought into the basement.
