Hogan Junction - Getting Started
As the layout will consist of two lightweight 3'x6' halves, I determined that this entire assembly could be supported by three evenly spaced and reinforced wall brackets. 

One bracket would be centered on the wall and the layout, and then there would be one bracket at each end, approximately 4' from the center support. In this way, the two halves would share the center support and then each side would have support at the 2/3 point of the far ends.

The first step was to locate the wall studs and then fasten a support strap to the wall with anchor screws. You will note that the brackets have already been assembled to longer support boards which are designed to rest on top of the wall support straps. 

You may not be able to see it in this picture, but I have carefully marked out exact mounting locations for the brackets with a tape measure and level, and I have all the materials and tools in the work area. We're ready to go!
