Cape Cod Northern - The Visit!

Well, if you have been following this story, you know that Al contacted me through my web site almost two years ago. We exchanged appropriate communications in order to identify his layout desires, and then I went to work on the design. The Cape Cod Northern was named for Al's location, on Cape Cod, and the fact that I live in the northern part of the country, back in Michigan.

Coincidentally, it just so happens that both my sister and my wife's best friend live in Massachusetts.... and both about 30 minutes away from Cape Cod......... and Al kept insisting that I had to come out to see the layout at some point. Hmmm, decisions, decisions.

So in the Summer of 2003 we all piled into the SUV and made the trip! Al and his wife are incredibly nice people, and the layout will blow you away in person - Al has done a great job building it, and the trains run (and sound) awesome! We had a very enjoyable visit, and I am very pleased with the entire situation - for this is what model railroading is all about: friendship and sharing.

However Al, and his awesome layout with digital sound and control, are now to blame for the O-Scale bug that has bitten me! Shame on you, Al - that money was for N scale stuff!
