Eastern - Framework
With careful planning, measuring, digging
and cutting I was well on my way to having the framework done. In
between trips carrying lumber, I used a wheelbarrow to move 3 cubic yards of
topsoil to the project site. Once the dirt was in place and trimmed with
brick edging, my wife planted perennials.
As described on the track plan
page, the back walls are 10' sections on each side and 5' in the middle.
Every end corner is a 2.5' piece, front sides are 5' and center front
pieces are 2' long - you will also notice that the front sides
"step" down so that the very front is only 1' tall. Again,
each piece is cut with 45 degree end angles as shown on the supplies
page, and boards are fastened to posts with galvanized nails.
PROJECT DATE: 09/10/03
Total cost-to-date: $240 + $100 top soil +$75 edging = $415
