Colorado Eastern - Completion!
The layout is now complete and ready for operation. If I remembered to hook all the right wires to the right rail, and if I did a good job with the track the trains should run perfectly....... and they did!

I bought a Bachmann BumbleBee set, as it has the appropriate black and yellow scheme form the Denver & Rio Grande Western that was used by the Durango & Silverton.

The original locomotive that came with the set was slightly damaged, but a call to Bachmann's service department solved the problem: they sent me a new locomotive free-of-charge! So kudo's to Bachmann for their great customer service, and for their very nice G Scale equipment!

See the next web page for photos of the first operations on the Colorado Eastern.

PROJECT COMPLETION DATE: 11/23/03

Well, it's not totally complete, because when spring comes I will be planting a lot of miniature trees and plants, but for several weekend's work and about $1000, it was a fun project! Hope you enjoyed reading about it!

Layout is basically complete!
